ADAM WELDING PLACEMENT SESSION IN HARGEISA

ADAM Welding Placement Session in Hargeisa

The SOCA conducted a monitoring tour on December 13, 2023, to observe the placement phase of twenty young male welding trainees at the Academy for Development and Advocacy of Minorities (ADAM) in Hargeisa. The trainees had completed a comprehensive welding training programme, which ended on September 11, 2023.

The team closely examined the trainees' progress and outcomes, aiming to provide them with job opportunities in the welding industry. Out of the thirteen participants interviewed, eight were engaged in permanent blacksmith occupations, four successfully obtained employment at Madooba Yare, and one started an entrepreneurial journey. Seven participants were not present due to unknown reasons.

The trainees possess 90% of the required skills, exhibit prompt responsiveness to duties, and demonstrate excellent time management abilities. They have secured employment and earned daily incentives, with recent incentives ranging from $14 to $15. Some have even saved money to acquire crucial tools, such as a metal grinding cutter machine.
