Selection session of the Makeup & Henna, Tie & Dye, and Tailoring Courses of Haldoor Technical and Vocational Training Center in Hargeisa On July 8, 2023, the Somali/land Consultants Association (SOCA) sent a team to the Haldoor Technical and Vocational Training Centre in the Hargeisa Digaalle village. Led by the executive director, Mr. Abdinasir, their mission was to closely observe the selection process for the Makeup & Henna, Tie & Dye, and Tailoring Courses. The selection committee of Haldoor, consisting of project manager Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Osman, finance officer Mr. Mubarak Mohamed Keyd, and placement officer Mr. Guled Yusuf Ismail, oversaw the process. The presence of the SOCA team aimed to ensure that the chosen applicants met the advertised requirements on the Somalijobs website within seven days and that the committee made their selections based solely on merit. The Makeup & Henna, Tie & Dye, and Tailoring Courses were officially announced at the beginning of June 2023, with a deadline for applications set on May 7, 2023. The announcement was effectively disseminated through various channels, such as the Somalijobs website and Facebook page. The eligibility criteria for the program were clearly outlined, including age restrictions (18-35 years old), literacy, gender (female only), relevant background in these fields, commitment to the program, and responsibility. Out of the 138 applicants, an impressive turnout of 129 candidates arrived for the written exam, which consisted of basic general knowledge, on June 8, 2023. The exam took place promptly at 9:40 am at a school located in Digaalle village in Hargeisa. The Haldoor team conducted the exam under the watchful eye of the SOCA monitoring team. Following the exam, the Haldoor committee carefully evaluated the applicants, and within a few days, the 50 successful candidates for the courses were officially announced.
